Where have I been?

Hello readers. It has been about 8 months since my last post and some of you may be wondering what happened to me. Somehow I got bit by a tick and now I have Lyme Disease! It has been pretty rough here for the past 6 months.

In addition to the Lyme Symptoms
I am on a high dosage of antibiotics which cause an assortment of side effects. Luckily I have great friends who have been keeping me company and taking good care of me.

Sadly I haven't been able to paint since I have become ill and I spend most days in my comfy bed. I plan on continuing to post here when I can to share my experiences with Lyme Disease.

Burien Mural

I was recently invited to paint a 15x7' mural in Burien, WA, a small community near Seattle, WA.
I had 2 days to complete the mural during their annual strawberry festival. The mural was painted on 4 wooden panels attached to a double car garage door. The garage was part of the Burien Art Gallery, a little building in a beautiful wooded park. I enjoyed painting under the tall pine trees. Some folks from the Moshier Art Center were set up next to me throwing pottery. Behind the garage a stage was set up and I got to listen to live music all day. My favorites were a traditional West African music and dance group Sohoyini( and a Western Swing band The Jangles ( I had a great time spending two days in such a lovely setting and getting to talk to the friendly people from the community. The best part about painting in public is getting to talk to people all day. I love the way art brings people together!
I have more pics of the completed mural stuck on my cell phone, because of course I got half way to Burien and realized I forgot to pack the as soon as I figure out how to get the images off my cell phone I will upload them!

Today's Wall

Hello. Here are 2 photo's for your enjoyment. The shots are of the wall in my studio. The paintings hanging on the wall are in varios stages of completion. They are all new pieces I have been working on for a show at the Guardion Gallery in June. I love working on all the pieces at one time. Having them all hanging together helps me see how they relate to each other. I love getting to spend time looking at the complex underpainting and know that it will one day be covered up.
Here is a glimps into my studio today
